Meet Amber
Hello, I’m Amber Soukkala, the founder of Soukkala Consulting, LLC. (813-358-8361)
When I was in High School I earned enough credits to be able to use my senior year as a full-time work study at a mortgage company so that I could graduate with my class in 2001. I was the executive assistant to the President and he taught me the “how to’s” of business operations. I ended up taking over his Operations department, licensing in 36 states as well as processing documents for closings to assist his pre-closing department. At 19 I was taking on the world. I chose to go to school at Roosevelt University under his guidance and earned an Honors Bachelors of Science in Biotechnology and Chemical Sciences, while working three jobs. I loved scientific statistics and mathematics so I decided to waive all my elective courses so I could take on more science based classes.
After graduating I had no idea what to do with myself. Science degrees need science experience and I couldn’t afford to work for free for two years as an intern. So I stuck with what I did best, supporting owners and companies. So I worked at Regus for a while and learned I had the ability to assist many different companies with my chameleon support skills, they ended up having me support 5 different business centers in the Chicago area. I traveled from tower to tower assisting companies that rented office space. I learned a lot about the fluidity of businesses, what they’re needs were, how the owners communicated, and watched business prevail and others flounder. I needed to do something about what I knew. My mother called me asking for help with the company she worked at, so I felt it was time to transfer to Florida and start working with her to get her new employer up to shape. From what was supposed to be a temporary job, I spent 12 years working in that small business environment, wearing just about every hat available. In my free time I worked with other small businesses by consulting with problem areas and assisting with bookkeeping and other necessity-based services. I noticed there was a demand in my expertise that I decided to keep building my firm with consulting and bookkeeping services. This is because I kept seeing something missing in their business equation, Me! I found my path in life; it’s to help people build theirs.
So over the years I built up my certifications with QuickBooks and the NACPB, and keep going till this day. I take on new learning opportunities so I can be the best at what I do and the most informed to offer my best skill set to everyone who calls me needing help. I act like I care because I do, and that’s the single most common thing people have noticed about me.
My focus with Consulting and bookkeeping/financial maintenance is to make your life more peaceful. I streamline small company workflow and provide you with reporting and analysis to show you where you can reduce overhead costs. I have worked with many businesses since the mid 90’s, providing you with over 20+ years of expertise, along with many certifications and my current focus of becoming an Enrolled Agent by the IRS so I can better assist and represent my clients. As I work to improve myself, I work harder to improve you!
Small businesses hold a soft spot in my heart and helping them succeed is a passion of mine. Companies that began from an idea written on a napkin to now having their own logo stained pens. I offer my clients software training, installation, conversions, implementation, new feature set-up, and transaction audits. I also provide recurring, catch-up, and clean-up bookkeeping with reporting. On top of all that I report and file various local and state taxes for Sales and Use, TPP, Tourism/Lodging and Payroll, 1099/1096 etc. Experience having amazing automated and custom reporting show up in your inbox in the morning, cut down unnecessary expenses, find a better and more productive way of succeeding in your industry. Create quality control by isolating workflow and data access to certain employees.
